Functions

1. Develop and monitor social services programs for the Community Service Area (CSA).
2. Establish and maintain standards quality levels costeffective and customerfocused services.
3. Oversee social services case management activities.
4. Manage staff activities ensuring their competencies and developing/presenting inservices.
5. Recommend develop and implement new programs enhancing services to specialized patient populations and reducing hospital and office visit utilization.
6. Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and improved services.
7. Identify community resources for Kaiser members.
8. Collaborate with community organizations in developing new programs or enhancing current community services available to Kaiser members.
9. Develop implement and monitor the quality assurance of social services programs and staff.
10. Identify issues that interfere with service delivery and develop techniques to resolve them.
11. Collaborate with medical center departments community agencies and health plan members on matters related to discharge planning ensuring services are provided in an integrated fashion.
12. Ensure compliance with federal state and local requirements.

Requirements

1. Great Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in medical social work preferably for a minimum of two (2) years.
2. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW): Must hold a current license as a Clinical Social Worker in California.
3. Masters Degree in Social Work: From an institution accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.
4. Drivers License: Valid California drivers license required.
5. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS): Certification must be maintained.
6. National Provider Identifier: Required at hire.

Skills

1. Leadership experience preferred. The manager is willing to train for inpatient experience.
2. Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience in medical social work is preferred.
