Job Overview:

We are seeking a Compliance Officer specializing in Registered Training Organization (RTO) compliance plays a crucial role in ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant regulations and standards in the education and training sector. Heres an overview of the responsibilities involved in this role:

Job Description:

Policy Development:
Develop review and update compliance policies and procedures in line with education and training regulations.

Compliance Monitoring:
Implement systems and processes to monitor ongoing compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Regularly assess internal operations to identify areas of potential noncompliance.

Internal Audits:
Conduct internal audits to evaluate and verify compliance with established policies and procedures.
Generate audit reports outlining findings and recommended corrective actions.

Documentation Management:
Maintain accurate and uptodate records of compliance documentation including policies reports and audit findings.

Training Programs:
Develop and deliver compliance training programs for staff to ensure awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements.

Risk Assessment:
Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
Implement strategies to address and manage identified risks.

Communication and Reporting:
Communicate changes in regulations and compliance requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior management.

Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to address compliance issues.
Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies and participate in relevant forums.

Investigations:
Conduct investigations into reported compliance concerns or incidents.
Ensure that corrective actions are taken to address identified issues.

Continuous Improvement:
Monitor industry best practices and changes in regulations to suggest improvements to compliance processes.
Implement improvements to enhance overall compliance effectiveness.

Legal Compliance:
Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting the education and training sector.
Collaborate with legal counsel when necessary to address legal compliance issues.

Quality Assurance:
Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that education and training programs meet or exceed established standards.

Ethical Oversight:
Promote and enforce ethical conduct in all compliancerelated activities.
Uphold the institutions commitment to integrity and ethical behavior.

Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans related to compliance issues.
Ensure readiness to address compliancerelated emergencies.

Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports on compliance activities.
Document instances of noncompliance investigations and corrective actions taken.

Requirements

Understanding of national and regional vocational education and training regulations.
Familiarity with standards and requirements set by relevant authorities and state departments including Queensland South Australia Tasmania the Australian Capital Territory
Previous experience working in a compliance or quality assurance role in an RTO environment.
Knowledge and understanding of the Standards for RTOs 2015.
Experience in using an RTO student management system.
Able to work in multidisciplined teams in a reliable and highly professional manner.
High level of attention to detail.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Independent research skills.
Excellent computer skills with an advanced level of proficiency in creating documents marketing materials editing and publishing.
Strong working knowledge of computer applications including; Outlook and Microsoft Office packages (Word and Excel) as a minimum.
Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
