Qualification: LLB LLM MBA Finance Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification
Insurance qualification: Fellowship or Chartered qualification in insurance FCII ACII.
Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our team
as a Financial Lines Insurance Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess a strong
educational background in law and finance coupled with extensive experience in both
banking and insurance particularly in the realm of financial lines insurance. The role
requires a deep understanding of legal and financial principles coupled with excellent
analytical skills and the ability to mitigate risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze and assess risks associated with financial lines insurance products
including Credit insurance Directors and Officers (D&O) insurance Professional
Indemnity (PI) insurance and Cyber Liability insurance.
2. Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect clients' financial
assets and mitigate potential liabilities.
3. Collaborate with underwriters actuaries and legal professionals to structure
insurance policies that meet the specific needs of clients.
4. Conduct thorough legal and financial due diligence on prospective clients and
their operations to identify potential risks and liabilities.
5. Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on insurance coverage options
policy terms and regulatory compliance.
6. Review and negotiate insurance contracts endorsements and policy wordings to
ensure clarity and alignment with clients' interests.
7. Monitor industry trends regulatory changes and emerging risks in the financial
services sector to adapt insurance offerings accordingly.
8. Liaise with claims management teams to facilitate the timely resolution of
insurance claims and disputes.
9. Serve as a subject matter expert on financial lines insurance products delivering
training sessions and presentations to internal teams and clients as needed.
10. Maintain strong relationships with clients brokers and other stakeholders to
drive business growth and retention.
Education/Experience
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM) degrees from accredited
institutions.
2. Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance or
related field.
3. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification
4. Fellowship or Chartered qualification in insurance (e.g. FII ACII).
5. Minimum of 6 years of experience in the banking industry with a focus on credit
division operations and risk management.
6. Extensive experience in the insurance sector particularly in financial lines
insurance products such as credit insurance D&O PI and Cyber Liability.
7. Proven track record of successfully structuring and underwriting complex
insurance transactions.
8. Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing financial
services and insurance industries.
9. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to assess and
mitigate risks effectively.
10. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build
rapport and trust with clients and stakeholders.
11. Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach to problemsolving.
