Title: Sales Executive/Business Unit Manager

Location: Deerfield Beach FL

Duration: Fulltime/Permanent Position

Position Responsibilities & Scope & Upward Mobility

This position will be responsible for business unit results including:

  • Profit and Loss
  • Meeting annual plans
  • Growth in the value for a business

This position focuses heavily on value creation. The Business Unit Manager focuses on details of value creation i.e. value based pricing continual cost improvement and identifying profitable new business opportunities. This person will guide a team of sales engineers and manufacturing professionals to create real intrinsic value. We hope to find a combination of good leadership and business sense/judgement that comes with someone who is a natural critical thinker and problem solver. This role will value someone who is action oriented and moves with a sense of urgency. If strong and open communication is your strong trait you will enjoy this role. If you find pride and joy in your work and your teams work this will allow you to enjoy that credit. You will also be tasked with managing and prioritizing multiple programs to maximize value creation.

The scope of this position includes:

  • Leadership of a cross functional business unit team (sales operations engineering quality)
  • New business generation
  • Proposal preparation
  • Bookings orders
  • Profit and Loss accountability
  • Developing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Establishing the yearly business plan
  • Overseeing operating activities to deliver on customer service and cost objectives
  • Contract negotiations
  • This is the key position in the company for promotion to senior management positions like VP Ops VP Sales and even future company President.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4year college degree (technical degree preferred but not essential)
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Broad business knowledge: sales engineering finance and operations
  • Industrial experience.
  • Management experiencedirect reports.
  • Ability to drive results from current and prior positions
  • P/L responsibility preferred

NOTES

  • We organize each of the portfolio companies into a business unit structure. The business unit is cross functional so that the team can focus their resources directly to the needs of the customer. There is no bureaucracy to get in the way. The resources reside in each team and are deployed by the Business Unit Manager to maximize their effectiveness. The business unit team is nimble and fast to match our resources to the customers in real time. The business unit team has proven to be the engine that grows the company.
  • The business unit team is led by the business unit manager. This is considered the primary development position for senior leaders across the corporation. Each quarter the manager presents their results to the senior corporate staff (CEO CFO COO EVP and other Portfolio Company Presidents). Direct access to senior leadership provides excellent learning opportunities and exposure for Business Unit Managers.
  • We have been growing at 20% to 25% annually for over 20 years. This creates growth opportunities for dynamic people who want to grow and make a difference.
  • They are developing new clients. They have longterm sales cycles so they do not expect immediate results but expect this person to be working for future contracts and new avenues where their product can be used.
  • They are about $25M in sales now and looking to grow to $30$35M over the next 2 years. This will be the responsibility of the VP and the Business Unit Manager to work together to accomplish goals.
