General Counsel

Location: OnSite Las Vegas NV

Salary Range: $170000.00 $250000.00

Commission Structure: 4% of wages of direct reports

We are a familyowned public transportation business and have served Las Vegas for over 40 years.

About the Role

The General Counsel will be responsible for handling tort defense and civil business matters for the company. This person will report directly to the board and will represent the best interests of the company.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve all documents processed and handle depositions case status hearing 16.1 hearings etc.
• Review 401k renewals EEOC/labor complaints contract reviews and negotiations insurance proposals/policies land disputes etc.
• Attend meetings for the Taxicab Authority Department of Industrial Insurance Nevada Transportation Authority and understand policies to ensure no adverse issues regarding the taxi industry
• Manage litigation caseload of about 20 cases with assistance from litigation paralegal

Requirements

• Must have experience in both tort defense and civil business
• Possess diverse legal experience including motor vehicle accident defense corporate governance for sophisticated/complex entities employment/human resources law business transactional regulatory compliance legislative law firm management and litigation experience as a first chair attorney.
• Strong legal writer
• Excellent communication skills
• Strongwilled and confident
• Experience with legislature regulatory agencies and contract negotiations
