Nurses need to competent for progressive level of care. The group of patients we typically see have diagnoses involving: CHF COPD DM Sepsis ACS. Nurses are expected to be comfortable with the following titratable medications: Cardizen Dopamine Dobutamine Precedex Insulin heparin. They should be capable of caring for stroke patients and be able to competently interpret cardiac telemetry. Our typical patient ratio is 4:1 with the assistance of a patient care technician.
