L3 Engineer

• Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 engineers in the following capacity:
  • Providing mentorship and oversight for technical decisions and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Higher level troubleshooting of issues pertaining to Linux Kubernetes AWS file systems and virtualization.
  • Creation of technical runbooks of common issues/tasks.
• Maintain and monitor a hybrid datacenter and cloud infrastructure built to be highly available including the following:
  • An infrastructure including server hardware Linux and Windows operating systems Kubernetes AWS services file services backup solutions and virtualization.
  • Ensuring systems and services are properly monitored logging capacity planning and reporting.
  • Automation of system builds and routine maintenance and management processes using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Configuration management of systems to maintain their system integrity consistent with their defined state.
• Participate in Daily Scrum Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective.
• Experience in working with teams ticket queue that requires prioritization and timely handling of a widerange of requests and troubletickets in a 24/5 environment and the necessary escalation to Engineering and Development teams.
• Utilize effective project management standards to define requirements implement and document.
• Assist in the migration of Windows to Linux infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation.
• Involvement in infrastructure related projects.

Required Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or closely related field.
• 4 years of Linux administration experience in an enterprise infrastructure (preferably RHEL/CentOS based) with emphasis on Linux monitoring and troubleshooting.
• AWS Cloud infrastructure administration and architecture experience (knowledge of EC2 S3 IAM AMI CloudWatch and CloudTrail services).
• Knowledge of infrastructure fundamentals such as networking authentication file sharing and other core services (DNS DHCP DFS).
• Experience with automation infrastructure as code and configuration management software (e.g. Terraform; Ansible Chef Puppet or similar; Jenkins).
• Managing changes to code through source control Github or similar.
• Experience with managing server hardware solutions including performance optimization.
• Knowledge of network storage systems NetApp Pure Storage etc.
• Demonstrated experience in virtualization and consolidation of server technologies specifically VMware vSphere and ESXi Virtual Infrastructure.
• Must have proven fluency in at least one scripting / coding language such as Shell Python PowerShell or similar.
• Fundamental knowledge of network switching routing and firewall technology.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology.

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools.
• Certifications:
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• Experience with Active Directory and Linux integration.
• Experience managing Active Directory Exchange Windows Server and messaging/collaboration systems in an enterprise environment.
• Understanding of programming concepts and different programming methodologies.
