Job Title:IT Systems Management Analyst UNiXLinux
Experience analyzing system dumps to determine root cause of issues (like storage violations). (both candidates had minimal exposure).
Java administration experience would be a major advantage.
CPSM Experience with setting up dynamic routing or workload separation.
Planning implementing and leading CICS and thirdparty product upgrades.
Understanding of basic Command Level APIs.
Experience with REXX Assembler and/or Python programming
Understanding of Java and/or Cobol programming for CICS (developing experience a major plus).
Experience with coding and assembling CICS System Exits would be a plus.
Our team not only installs and manages the system software but also works closely with the development teams to ensure our systems are designed to meet their needs and to help the application teams fix issues that impact overall stability. To do this the system programmer needs some application understanding and good problem determination skills.
z/OS Java System Programmer

Description:
This person will work with other z/OS Java Systems Programmers to manage and maintain the JVM products in our z/OS environment. The responsibilities include supporting the Liberty JVM environments in CICS and the Liberty environments hosting IBM Operational Decision Management and z/OS Connect. Performance analysis and tuning of the environment. The position will include some Java programming and setup of DevOps processing using Jenkins Maven Gradle Position includes 24x7 on call responsibilities in a weekly rotation.
Manage Liberty JVMs and related products including installation maintenance and support.
Assist applications in problem determination and application tuning including dump analysis
Develop and support sample Java applications and DevOp pipeline processes
Monitor and tune the Liberty JVMs running in z/OS and under CICS
Required Skills:
2 years JVM configuration and administration experience
2 years of Linux / Unix experience including sh/ksh scripting
5 years of Java programming experience
Experience using git GitHub and Jenkins or equivalent
Working with vendors to open issues and provide documentation
Desirable Skills /Assets:
2 years z/OS experience including Unix System Services
Knowledge of CICS and CICS Plex Systems Manager (CPSM)
Experience with:
o Linux administration
o Artifactory
o XL Deploy
o Gradle and/or Maven
o Scripting Languages like sh ksh REXX CLIST or SAS.
o Java Dump Analysis
o IBM s Must Gather Process
o RACF security
o REST APIs including JWT and OAUTH2
