We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer (Puppet Master) to join our clients dynamic team in Herndon VA.
We are seeking a talented and experienced Systems Engineer with expertise in Puppet management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 11 years of experience in Linux systems administration with a strong background in managing Puppet in large complex cloud environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cuttingedge technologies and play a key role in the development and maintenance of our Linux system cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain Puppet and Foreman within the customer Linux system cloud baseline infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance in software engineering techniques and automated support tools.
- Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
- Prepare required documentation at both programlevel and userlevel.
- Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures.
- Perform technical evaluations and analysis to support decisionmaking processes.
- Support the customer in the development and maintenance of systems baseline.
- Assess server loads and work with technical leads to develop tuning recommendations.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Bachelors or Masters degree preferred.
- 11 years of experience in Linux systems administration.
- Experience managing Puppet in large complex cloud environments.
- Experience with Foreman database (e.g. PostGresSQL).
- Proficiency in Linux including Red Hat and its derivatives (CentOS RHEL RockyOS).
- Experience in bash scripting and operating the Linux command line
- Experience with Ruby and Python programming languages.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Google Cloud Oracle and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of cloud computing models including PaaS IaaS and SaaS.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Dockers Kubernetes and OpenShift (CaaS).
