Position Title
Metallurgical Lab Technician

THIS IS NOT A WELD POSITION. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR FURTHER POSITION DETAILS.

The template structure recently changed and there wasnt a great one to match this position. Were working on getting one added but this is what the manager chose to use in the meantime.

Onsite first shift position.

We are seeking a contingent Lab Technician to support our Metallurgical Lab team working closely with the Materials Engineers. The successful candidate will perform a variety of materials testing assist in the preparation of technical reports and maintain lab equipment and supplies. This role requires knowledge and understanding of materials testing equipment and methods as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Follow test plans established by Materials Engineers ensuring efficient and accurate execution of materials testing processes that meet the customers needs.
2. Perform routine materials testing using established procedures and techniques to ensure product quality and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
3. Assist the Materials Engineers in the preparation of detailed technical reports based on materials testing results outlining findings and recommendations.
4. Operate and calibrate analytical equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
5. Maintain lab equipment tools and supplies ensuring a clean organized and efficient work environment.
6. Assist the Materials Engineer with troubleshooting and resolving materialsrelated issues.
7. Maintain accurate documentation of experiments results and analyses and support the Materials Engineers in presenting findings to stakeholders.
8. Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
9. Continuously improve lab processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
2. Prior experience working in a materials engineering lab or similar environment.
3. Familiarity with materials testing equipment and methods.
4. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
5. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods
