Support Engineer
Our client is looking for an experienced Support Engineer on a permanent basis. This is an officebased role in Croydon.
The Client is a specialist for intelligent drive technology systems as well as tailormade services. Our client s customers come from highly diverse industries such as oil and gas energy mining and mechanical engineering ship technology rail and commercial vehicles rely on the advanced technologies and digital applications of our Client.
Support Engineer Offer
- 35000k 40000k (dependant on experience).
- 36.5 Working week.
- 20 days holiday (pro rata).

Support Engineer Responsibilities
Support the business from a handson engineering perspective to include:
o BoM checks and sign off
o condition assessments
o job pack creation
o engineering changes
o preparation for overhaul projects
o preparation for FAIs
o fault investigation and diagnosis warranty claim investigation
o creating method statements creating component overhaul instructions
o test procedures conduct material analysis and comparisons
o report compilation and reviewing
o design tooling
- Manage warranty investigations as required including conducting the investigation interacting with customers and suppliers writing the investigation report drawing conclusions on the failure making recommendations for followup actions and ensuring actions are implemented/ carried out.
- Produce technical reports in accordance with company/client requirements.
- Create engineering change and concession / Production Permit requests as required. Manage the document and issue to conclusion as required.
- Support internal customers Sales Projects Production Purchasing Operations Shop Floor Quality etc as required.
- Provide engineering expertise for the company in the analysis and signing of concessions and engineering changes.
- Produce Method statements and Test procedures as required.
Support Engineer Experience
- Experienced engineer with (as a minimum) an HNC/HND qualification (or equivalent) in a mechanically biased engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years professional engineering experience with a good balance of general engineering testing problem solving technical process writing (method statements overhaul instructions) condition assessments technical investigations and task management.
- Knowledge of various industries ranging from Mobility (Rail and Marine) Power Oil and Gas aviation etc sectors.
- Knowledge of mechanical driveline and connecting products and systems (gearboxes cardan shafts highly flexible couplings rail couplers cooler groups etc) is advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of BS 8888 technical product documentation and specification.
Support Engineer Skills
MUST have a HANDSON flexible positive adaptable and proactive approach.
Fluent technical and conversational English.
Commercial awareness understanding the impact of engineering actions and decisions on current contracts and future business.
Understanding of Overhaul Production processes.
Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 quality system.
Excellent communication skills on a technical level
Good analytical skills including the ability to work from engineering first principles.
Genuine enthusiasm for Mechanical Engineering.
IT literate.
