Information Systems Security Engineer ISSE

GovFirst is seeking a talented Information Systems Security Engineer to join our clients team in Herndon VA. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) with an acceptable level of risk. This role requires a proactive and organized individual with excellent communication skills the ability to adapt in a fastpaced environment and a strong commitment to maintaining the security of our information systems.

• Support activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain ATO with an acceptable level of risk.
  
• Demonstrate initiative organization and responsibility in implementing security measures.
  
• Communicate effectively and decisively with all levels of the organization on security matters.
  
• Conduct risk assessments and implement security controls to mitigate identified risks.
  
• Identify security gaps and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to achieve common security goals.
  

Requirements

• 35 years of experience working with Information Systems preferably in a complex organizational setting.
  
• Associates degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
  
• Relevant certifications highly desired (e.g. CISSP CISM CompTIA Security CompTIA CASP).
  
• Comprehensive knowledge of information security principles methodologies and best practices.
  
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g. ISO 27001 NIST HIPAA).
  
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing security controls.
  
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex security matters effectively.
  
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
