Senior Software Engineer - Finance Domain

Were looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Finance Domain.

THE ROLE

Finance Domain

Finance is one of the domains with the highest growth forecast at Factorial. Its mission is to serve as the backbone of financial operations for companies encompassing expense management invoice processing analytics payments card management and accounting.

By optimizing financial workflows enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards through homologated solutions companies can forget about their papers and processes and focus on making important and informed decisions to adapt to dynamic market conditions effectively while they can also manage all of the important aspects of their company in our allinone solution.

The Engineering team at large

At Factorial we have a team of 150 very talented fullstack developers. We look for smart people who are curious proactive and have good soft/communication skills.

We are not looking for a long list of skills and technologies. Our stack is Ruby on Rails for the backend and React/Reactnative for the clients but its not mandatory to be proficient in those to be considered (most of the team came with other areas of expertise which are very enriching). We believe that someone who has good aptitudes and is hungry for learning is what works best.

REQUIREMENTS

• You are a team player: You are comfortable helping your teammates sharing your knowledge reviewing their code and asking for reviews of your own.

• You are a polyglot developer: You have experience in several coding languages (especially for backend development) CI/CD tools and cloud technologies.

• You have a couple of years of experience working as a software engineer.
• You are comfortable communicating in English.

How We have a Career Path with a rubric framework where we define what is expected for each experience level and skill. This framework allows you to know at which level youre right now and what you need to keep growing. As we love transparency our Career Path includes the salaries for each level and we share it during the first interview to make sure were aligned.

For this seniorlevel position the annual gross salary is 60000 regardless of your location. This includes a base salary of 51000 and a variable pay of up to 9000 paid monthly depending on the companys goals.

Your daily life with us

Youll start with a 2 weeks onboarding period where you will:

• You will be learning about Factorial our product our team our clients
• Pair with each member of the team at least once to see their current initiatives
• Solve lowstake bug tickets or quick wins
• Commit early and often thanks to our cloud dev environment (Gitpod every day all day)
• Be fully integrated in the teams rituals from day 1

A Senior engineer at Factorial influences requirements definition with the PM and is autonomous to deliver a polished solution that matches those. You participate in the teams decision through Requests For Comments that you write yourself or reading others.

You will be a product engineer taking ownership of big initiatives and being interested in the outcome not just the output. About the outcome youll also work with your team members to establish goals and plan a quarterly roadmap putting special attention to the technical needs of our domain.

You will be involved in customer calls to learn about their pains & needs.

You will review code daily and get feedback on your own code at every pull request from all team members including juniors.

You will learn from the entire team both on technical topics (performance architecture) and core skills in an environment driven by engineering quality. You will also mentor junior team members and help them learn from your experience..

PROCESS & NEXT STEPS

1. First Interview. The first thing is to know each other (going deeper into your professional experience and thinking) and align expectations so make sure to ask any questions you have about Factorial: team organization design etc.
2. Second interview. Here we will talk about the role etc.
3. Challenge (8h max.) // thats a conversation about technology not an exam or a code review. Well ask you to send us a piece of code youve written recently and youre happy with to use as a basis for the conversation. If you dont have anything well share some specifications for you to build but the focus will be on how you think not the exact code.
4. Final interview. We want you to meet the people who founded Factorial so feel free to ask any questions!
5. Offer Letter. If everything plays out well make you a formal offer based on all the steps above.

The whole process is remote using videoconferencing tools!
