Position: Safety Technician
Location: Murfreesboro TN 37130
Duration: 3 Months
Job Type: Contract

Job Description:
The Safety Technician is responsible for providing first aid treatment to injured employees and documenting all treatment additionally they are responsible for proactive management of injuries and when possible mitigating them from occurring. The Safety Technician is also responsible for assisting the Safety Manager in the development and implementation of Safety Training and Compliance Programs Facility Inspections Incident Investigations
Responsibility:
  • Provide triage first aid and/or referral to outside medical providers if needed.
  • Maintain record of care provided and ensure documentation is clear and consistent.
  • Facilitate and maintain the workers compensation and accommodation process.
  • Assists the Safety Manager to develop update and implement all safety procedures and programs.
  • Monitor and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained.
  • Trains employees in safety procedures and provides guidance and assistance as necessary.
  • Investigates and Reports on all accidents injuries near misses and hazardous situations as required. Performs Causal Analyses on all of the above.
  • Handles complaints/questions Initiates discrepancy reports and conducts required followup inspections and detailed reports.
  • Manages department databases PowerPoints Excel spreadsheets and Outlook programs.
  • Must be willing to abide by the company handbook in regard to following safety rules and job rotations.
  • Must be willing to report unsafe conditions reporting unsafe acts participating in safety/ergo committees participating in safety Kaizen events participating in safety audits and participating in safety observation feedback events.
  • Assist the plant in achieving safety goals and achieving and maintaining AMS objectives.
  • Participate in communications events such as plant wide meetings line meetings department meetings and training exercises.
  • Will follow and promote environmental management system compliance and commitment to resource conservation
Required Qualifications:
  • High school or equivalent GED diploma
  • Emergency Medical Technician Basic Certification from the Department of Health OR the
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Or higher level or Medical
  • Assistant with emergency room or Intensive care unit experience. (Must be able to provide proof of certification).
  • Must have current CPR certification.
Required Education:
  • High school or equivalent GED diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record.
  • Knowledge of accident investigation and reporting practices.
  • Working knowledge of hazardous safety and environmental warnings
  • Ability to read and write reports programs regulations accident reports etc.
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively with personnel at all levels both verbally and in writing; ability to work harmoniously with others.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Access.
  • Proficient in recordkeeping.
  • Familiar with workers compensation process.
  • Bilingual Spanish
