Description
This role is responsible for overseeing the business operations functions of the City of Atlantas information technology (IT) department.
Duties at this level include but are not limited to assisting the departments Chief of Staff and leadership with planning and executing professional tasks in the areas of strategic IT workforce planning operational performance management human resources continuous improvement and arranging IT training upskilling and professional development for the staff.
This is experienced professional should be capable of carrying out most assignments typical of the profession with limited guidance or review.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in business/public administration finance accounting or related field. 5 years of finance or
budgeting experience is required.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in business/public administration finance accounting or related field; 57 years of professional
experience in public administration budgeting or related field (equivalent professional experience may be considered
for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis); and ITIL version 3 or 4 certification.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of principles processes and procedures for operating an exceptional and efficient information technology
organization. Skill in overseeing the management of record keeping and documentation. Skill in persuading people to
change habits and behaviors; attention to detail accuracy and quality; time management of self and
others; project management; critical thinking; using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of
alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems; listening and communicating exceptionally to
effectively convey information verbally and in writing; analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying
scrutinizing improving and streamlining complex work processes; identifying and mitigating problems risks and
issues. Ability to apply general rules and best practices to specific problems to produce sensible solutions; work on
own initiative and be proactive in developing and improving the administrative and business functions; plan
coordinate and facilitate activities meetings and/or special events; routinely gather collate and/or classify data;
analyze data utilizing a variety of complex processes; operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods;
work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; develop and maintain positive working
relationships; provide direction; provide exceptional customer service. Skill in communicating effectively with
supervisors and other staff members. Ability to comprehend and apply regulations and procedures of the department;
and ability to perform duties under a moderate degree of stress related to duties that require constant attention to
details and tight deadlines.
