Data Quality Analyst/Rules Engineer

Job Description Summary

The DQ Analyst is responsible for performing analysis data profiling and the writing of business rules for PayPal s critical data elements to help ensure that the data used for reporting and analysis is accurate and reliable .They will partner with our Data Management and Data Engineering Teams to perform data analysis to ensure quality data across our data products and analytics platform.

Job Description

Analyze query and profile data to define business rules in support of business process/domain objectives
Determine business impact level for data quality issues
Determine root cause for data quality errors and make recommendations for longterm solutions
Create documentation and artifacts for data quality rules engine alerting and monitoring
Perform statistical tests on large datasets to determine data quality and integrity
Support teams in their development of process improvements to enhance overall data quality
Identify areas of improvement to achieve data quality
Develop validate and implement business rules on platforms like Big Query Hive etc.
Experience in Python SparkSQL is a plus .

Experience :
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field and a minimum of 5 years of IT experience OR in lieu of a degree a minimum of 7 years of hands on mixed experience in technology and process excellence

Minimum of 2 years of experience with Data Management Data Governance or Data Quality (preferably in a in banking financial services or pharmaceutical industries).
Proven experience of having worked on and/or maintaining skills in:
Data analysis data profiling quality rules definition and automation
Data quality measurement and metric generation and aggregation into quality performance indicators
Information chain analysis and management
Root cause analysis
Minimum 2 years of experience using data quality tools such as: Informatica Ab Initio SAP SAS
SQL Programming; performance tuning or DBA experience using SQL Server
Client facing with excellent communication presentation and documentation skills ability to communicate at all levels within business from Senior level to end users with ability to communicate technical matters in nontechnical business terms
Strong data analysis skills across multiple source systems of various formats
Intermediate/Advanced MS Office Suite skills including Power Point Excel Access Visio
Strong relationship management and influencing skills to build enduring and productive alliances across matrix organizations (both internal/external)
