Seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) 1 Year Contract Position

Description of Project

Empowers Staffing Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) who will be a member to their public agency clients Infrastructure Team and will need to work closely with the Server System Engineers and collaborate with other Enterprise teams.

The resource will help migrate to new versions of SQL and ensure the availability and optimization of the current MSSQLdatabases. The resource may occasionally work with other database platforms such as Oracle. This position will require you to have experience in ETL processes and have knowledge of Azure SQL Database and Managed Instances.

The work is expected to be done as a hybrid approach. The onsite work location is at Saint Paul MN 55108

Desired Skills

  • Experience with SQL server applications and supporting components including SSIS and SSRS.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting ETL (Extract Transform and Load) processes.
  • Experience in mentor IT staff and database design
  • Experience in assessing and introducing new technologies to improve operation of database infrastructure.
  • Experience as a lead worker in a team of subject matter experts of varying capacities
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure SQL technologies.
  • Experience with AlwaysOn and other High Availability SQL technologies

Sample Tasks

  • Support SQL server applications
  • Supporting SQL Server components including SSIS and SSRS
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting ETL (Extract Transform and Load) processes
  • Performing SQL backups and Disaster Recovery
  • Performing database migrations & upgrades
  • Working with Azure SQL technologies
  • Documenting work and processes
  • Provide mentorship to other DBAs on the team
  • Provide knowledge transfer
This role can be W2 or 1099/C2C and is open for anyone with valid work authorization in the US. H1B transfer candidates are more than welcome to apply for this role.

Interviews will be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams.
