OCU Hornbill part of the wider OCU Group of Companies have a new opportunity for an experienced LV ECI Project and Design Engineer. The purpose of the role is to ensure the technical aspects of projects are correct using advanced engineering skill to ensure the project is fit for purpose and meets the statutory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on the planning and implementation of projects.
  • Ensure adherence to company and industry regulations.
  • Supervise and manage site projects including budgeted hours material costs and timescales.
  • Generate project files with test sheets work instructions and associated manuals.
  • Conduct risk assessments & drive SHEQ excellence.
  • Implement all corrective actions when required.
  • Review and manage Departmental projects including performance.
  • Maintaining strong relationships.
  • Take responsibility for Managing Low Voltage installation work including Power distribution and Control systems.
  • Manage Hazardous Area Low Voltage installation work and Instrumentation installation.
  • Manage small bore pipework installations.
  • Undertake electrical designs.
  • Generate electrical schematics using CAD.
  • Coordinate project documentation
  • Assist in workshop testing and site commissioning of completed designs

Skills and Experience

  • BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD.
  • Able to think strategically in order to deliver both the company and departmental objectives.
  • Able to motivate and develop others and maintain high standards across the team.
  • Experience of managing multiple projects prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prepared to challenge the status quo and apply a test and learn approach to drive continuous improvement.
  • Commercially aware and financially literate.
  • High computer literacy with advanced numerical and analytical skills.
  • Collaborative and responsible.
  • Able to guide lead coach and motivate the team to meet their objectives and targets.
