An exciting opportunity has arisen at FRP Technologies based at our site in Coleshill. FRP works across multiple sectors and provides products and services including prototyping to the medical automotive and aerospace industries and we are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Team. Our Coleshill site focuses on the automotive work and knowledge of this area is preferred.
We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer who can take responsibility for all aspects of quality activities within the parts assembly process.
Key aspects of the role will include:
Maintaining and operating within IATF16949 quality system requirements in addition to customer specific requirements.
Applying Quality core tools to improve customer satisfaction and prevent quality concerns.
Conducting internal and external audits.
Maintaining and monitoring the SPC/R&R and MSA systems.
Supporting Assembly/Project Teams in producing and maintaining core tools documentation including process flow charts control plans FMEA and all elements of AIAG standard customer PPAP submissions to an accuracy level adequate for customer preparation and discussion.
Liaising and making visits to customers and suppliers on quality issues from advanced quality planning processes through to problem solving/resolutions using 8D discipline.
Completing audits in line with current company audit requirements. This may include IATF16949 ISO14001 or other audit methods.
The role will involve regular contact with customers suppliers and other team members and we are looking for a confident individual who has excellent communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail.
You must be able to demonstrate operational flexibility the agility in response to change and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Essential Experience / Qualifications:
HND Mechanical/Production Eng./Manufacturing or equivalent
At least 3 years experience within Quality Assurance Engineer role (Automotive background preferred)
Automotive knowledge in SPC FMEA 8D problem solving resolution and auditing
Good knowledge of automotive new business practices (PPAPP and APQP)
You must be PC literate with good working knowledge of Word Excel
Customer specific requirement and web site and knowledge is essential
Desirable Experience:
Six Sigma knowledge
Audit qualification
Engineering degree
Good knowledge and understanding of IATF16949 and customer specific requirements
Good working knowledge of Minitab
Good working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (preferably Program Plus)
