Linux Enterprise Architect

This is a remote position.

(60 hours approx.) PartTime Position

(Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS Architect)

Responsibilities:

.

Audit new and existing information systems applications and infrastructure to ensure appropriate controls exist processing is efficient and accurate and information system procedures are in compliance with corporate standards and Federal regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

.

Risk management experience including: performing assessments and audits designing controls managing enterprise control frameworks and prioritizing risk.

.

Willingness to dive deep into your own audits combined with experience collaborating on a team.

.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will prepare reports and make presentations to senior level management. You will interact with various levels of employees to collect and communicate information.

.

A fast learner who can quickly absorb the nuances and behaviour s of Amazons systems architecture.

.

Solid analytical skills and history of analyzing data and situations to identify meaningful observations.

Candidate Should Have:

• Audit would be looking at the RHEL golden AMIs
  
• Windows golden AMIs don t play heavily in this space
  
• Ubuntu silver AMIs are used in the CI/CD infrastructure
  
• About 1100 RHEL servers in our environment
  
• vast majority have moved to AWS and are no longer managed through Red Hat Satellite
  
• only around 150 still managed by Satellite mostly onprem devices yet to be retired or migrated to AWS
  
• EC2s built from our golden AMIs are not domainjoined
  
• get their RHEL content and licensing through AWS rather than directly through Red Hat
  
• The majority of our RHEL servers are still used for web application hosting e.g. Tomcat Apache.
  

The engagement would be of typical size with 45 onehour meetings over a one week period remotely. No access will be given to the consultant. Engineers can screen share to show our environment. We would like to try to complete the meetings during April or May (for the week of meetings) with a written narrative deliverable at the end that has observed best practices in place and recommendations. Security resilience and operational soundness is the desired scope.
