Salary Range: $32510.00 to $47070.00

Seeking an EMT Intermediate to join their team. This position will be required to respond in an emergent/nonemergent situation with the ambulance and render aid up to his/her level of training. Will assist the nursing staff in providing care to patients who present in the Emergency Department and deliver patient care as directed by the ER provider. When not on a call or completing trip reports EMS personnel are expected to be visible in the hospital on a nursing unit assisting with patient care as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Respond to instructions from emergency medical dispatcher and drive a specially equipped emergency vehicle.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury or magnitude of catastrophe to establish first aid procedure to be followed or need for additional assistance.
• Administers prescribed first aid treatment at the site of an emergency or in a specially equipped vehicle performing activities in accordance with established treatment procedures and protocols commensurate with the level of certification.
• Work in other departments as assigned by his or her supervisor or director.
• Maintain current Colorado certification through education such as college courses recertification classes conferences and online education.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

• Previous experience preferred
• Must be over 21 years of age and meet Hospital vehicle insurance qualifications

Education: n/a

Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:

• Successful completion of a State Approved EMT course and current Colorado Certification required.
• Current BLS ACLS and PALS certification before date of hire.
• ILTS certification is recommended within six months of the date of hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Must possess knowledge of and ability to apply emergency medical theory practices techniques and methods.
