Job Summary:

Be part of our clients team as an Intermediate Auditor contributing to a range of audit activities applying and developing accounting knowledge. Complete mandatory training ensuring continuous professional growth and gain a comprehensive understanding of audit tasks across various job categories.


Employment type: Full Time
Shift: Day MonFri 6:45 AM to 3:45 PM PH time
Work setup: Onsite Makati


Responsibilities:

Technical (70% of time):

  • Assist senior staff with a wide range of audit activities applying and developing previously acquired audit knowledge/skills.
  • Activities include:
  • Roll over prior year data for file setup
  • Prepare confirmation letters and audit letters
  • Set up preliminary analytics based on predefined standards
  • Evaluate source data for correct classification
  • Complete planned audit procedures for reconciliations of GL accounts (cash fixed and other assets employee entitlements etc.)
  • Prepare work papers for (cash fixed and other assets employee entitlements etc.)
  • Prepare general and specialpurpose financial statements to a defined standard
  • Perform clerical checks on financial statements (e.g. inspect additions conducted on reports & crossreferences for correctness edit errors etc.)
  • Compile financial statements reports notes and letters
  • File all documentation electronically according to firm procedures
  • Add system notes as instructed (e.g. highlight key controls etc.)
  • Prepare and follow up on confirmation letters and requests to external entities for confirmation of client balances

Process Management/Administration (10% of time):

  • Complete all standard administration tasks and additional tasks as instructed and in a timely manner.
  • Activities include routine duties (experience from previous positions):
  • Complete daily timesheet recording time spent on assigned tasks
  • Support other HLB staff as instructed
  • Assist with the billing process as instructed

Self Management (10% of time):

  • Maximize own time to complete assignments and achieve agreed performance goals.
  • Activities include routine duties (experience from previous positions):
  • Manage own workflow/review hours spent against budget/expectations (e.g. prioritize & make job list current review timesheets & update hours spent on each job compare WIP to agreed fees avoid writeoffs)
  • Clarify job tasks/requirements/deadlines
  • Inform/follow up with senior staff about work progress (e.g. ask for work review to finalize job provide progress updates)

Self Development (10% of time):

  • Apply and develop a working knowledge of audit concepts and contribute to building on this knowledge.
  • Activities include:
  • Attend all training as required/organized by the firm
  • Selfeducate where a job demands skills and knowledge in an unknown area with the assistance of the firms resources
  • Ensure adequate knowledge of relevant software applications used within Audit
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings


Qualifications:

  • Completed degree from a recognised university
  • At least 12 years as a Graduate in an audit environment
  • Communication skills to express thoughts clearly both orally and in writing to staff at all levels of seniority & to external parties as instructed business writing with excellent spelling and grammar
  • Follow instructions by ensuring the understanding of requirements and due dates of assigned tasks; find a balance between trying to solve a problem with minimal instruction/unassisted and seeking supervision to remain efficient and costeffective; evaluate effectiveness of own actions after completing demanding tasks
  • Quality orientation by knowing about and complying with quality procedures and audit standards; paying attention to detail; develop effective selfreview procedure to reduce supervisors review time
  • Action orientation by taking initiative and originating action to get things done; build up the ability to work more and more unsupervised
  • Analysis judgement and problem solving to be able to define problems break them down into component parts define goals conduct research and make systematic and rational decisions based on relevant information
  • Planning and organise oneself to prioritise tasks plan ahead and have a structured approach to work; set up & monitor timescales
  • Interpersonal sensitivity to understand quickly what the other persons needs are and to be responsive and attentive to feedback active listening
