Overview:
The Embedded System Engineer plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining embedded software for various electronic devices and systems. This position is vital to ensuring the seamless integration of software and hardware components as well as optimizing system performance and functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing embedded software and firmware for microcontrollers and microprocessors
- Optimizing code for performance and memory usage
- Integrating software with hardware components and systems
- Developing and debugging device drivers and communication protocols
- Implementing realtime operating systems (RTOS) for embedded systems
- Conducting code reviews and debugging embedded software
- Collaborating with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration
- Testing and validating embedded software and systems
- Documenting software design and development processes
- Providing technical support for embedded softwarerelated issues
- Staying updated on the latest trends and technologies in embedded systems
- Participating in the hardware and software architecture definition
- Supporting product verification and validation activities
- Developing tools and scripts for embedded software development and testing
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or related field
- Proficiency in C/C programming languages for embedded systems
- Experience with embedded systems design and development
- Knowledge of microcontroller and microprocessor architecture
- Experience with realtime operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software development tools
- Strong understanding of hardware and software interaction in embedded systems
- Experience in device driver development and debugging
- Ability to analyze and optimize embedded software for performance and memory usage
- Experience with communication protocols such as SPI I2C UART etc.
- Strong problemsolving and debugging skills for embedded systems
- Experience with version control systems and software documentation
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for embedded system development
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and collaborative team environment
- Understanding of software development life cycle for embedded systems
