Senior Big Data Engineer

Hi were Shake Were helping bring businesses closer to their consumers by building solutions for the most customer obsessed companies in the world. As a tech startup were developing innovative technology that unlocks the power of the vast quantities of data available online.

Were an established business with thousands of paying customers and a team of 20 and are searching for a fulltime remote Big Data Engineer to help us build out our services. Youll be an important part of our earlystage team and work on several projects internal frameworks and microservices. We are looking for someone who is excited about building out gamechanging technologies that are used by software engineers data scientists quants and data analysts all around the world.

Being bootstrapped (not venturebacked) and fully remote we dont strive for growth at all costs and are building a company that we can be proud of and enjoy working for.

Job requirements

Our ideal candidate has:

• strong knowledge of Python (5 years)
• data engineering experience
• basic knowledge of machine learning
• experience with AWS stack
• experience with Redis and queues (Celery/Dramatiq)
• good knowledge of RDBMS databases (MySQL)
• experience with modern APIs based on REST (FastAPI)
• fluent English and excellent communication skills

Nice to have:

• experience creating products for developers data engineers and/or data consumers
• experience with high volume scraping and building scrapers
• experience working with Big Data
• experience with ElasticSearch
• passion for writing clean code and tests
• handson approach and is proactive
• keen eye for detail striving for perfection

On a typical day you will:

• uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to our product development
• create and develop new functionalities as well as maintain existing ones
• implement scrapers based on ongoing requirements
• write clean and scalable code
• write codereviews
• learn best practices from other team members

Salary range: $54000 $62000 (USD gross)
