Reparations United aims to build a lean structure that can select any specific injury issue and educate organize and mobilize existing local coalitions. Their work enables these groups to develop initiate and get funded reparatory programs locally in multiple communities simultaneously. The organization will achieve this mission through work strategy and building the collective will of activists in communities across America. Led by Kamm Howard a national and international reparations scholar and activist working for over 20 years building grassroots movements to obtain reparations for African descendants in the United States Reparations United needs an Project Assistant to support this work.
Job Brief:
The Project Assistant will be pivotal to the growth and impact of the organization. This is a truly amazing opportunity for a qualified capable and activismdriven professional to grow in their career while advancing a cause critical to our nation. The Project Assistant should be experienced in providing administrative support to an Executive Director (ED) and have a desire to do truly impactful work. The Project Assistant will work directly with the ED managing complex schedules coordinating meeting logistics and materials and composing and editing business correspondence and reports. Passion for the mission and the ability to anticipate needs and offer solutions to problems will make an excellent candidate for this role! The position is located in Chicago and will work in a hybrid setting.

The salary for this position is $60k annually. The Project Assistant will work in a mostly remote setting; however the candidate must reside in Chicagoland and be available to meet in person at least weekly. Some travel is required.
