Responsible for supporting assigned Quality Assurance activities and Quality Control activities at the installation and construction site in Baltimore. As the onsite Deputy QA/QC Engineer the candidate will be responsible for:
Reporting directly to the onsite QA/QC Manager for train control and railcar QA/QC activities;
Interfacing with the program level team as well as subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the proper execution of the project in accordance with applicable planning documents and contractual requirements;
Supporting the onsite quality daily and long term interfaces with the primary subcontractors providing train control and rail car vehicles;
Supporting the unified approach to quality between all subcontractors and the program level organization including the integration of the systems from a quality assurance perspective;
Supporting the creation and/or update of all Program quality planning documents;
Witnessing inspections/testing and/or conducting inspections of various systems subsystems or products including First Article Inspections supporting engineering as assigned by the QA/QC Manager;
Support the data collection analysis and reporting of various project metrics and KPI’s and support the corrective action process when targets are not met;
Support the establishment and maintenance of an onsite Quality Assurance program based upon the contract requirements and the STS Global Business Management System.
Required Skills & Experience
12 years’ experience in a Project Quality Assurance/Control environment including field installation and delivery;
Experience in reading technical documents drawings and / or schematics;
Rail car experience of a level necessary to coordinate with the rail car supplier any quality issues or inspections;
Experience in train control electronic systems of a level necessary to coordinate with the train control supplier any quality or inspection issues;
Reports errors deficiencies discrepancies and observations to management in the form of Installation Inspection Report identifying any long term corrective actions and status
ISO 9001:2015 implementation experience;
Experience auditing systems processes products both internally and externally;
Experience with MS office tools – suite;
Experience in Quality Management within the public transit industry; including all federal state local and companyspecific regulations related to product quality
Must be fluent in English; Italian language skills are a plus;
Experience in working with Quality Management Systems;
Good communication skills in relaying technical information via verbal or written communication;
