Purpose of Role
  • To provide a safe and secure environment for all staff contractors and visitors.
  • To provide the highest level of service with nothing being too much trouble at any time day or night with a can do will do attitude at all times.
  • Working as part of the wider team to ensure a high level of security and services delivered.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to Senior Line Managers in the business this role is responsible for providing an exemplary level of security and customer service on site and promoting the company brand through compliance of policies and procedures with a fair and consistent approach. They will be the integral link between our senior management team and our client and will be representing the Company at all times whilst on duty. The Security Officer will be responsible for:
  • Meet and greet visitors contractors and staff.
  • Prevent trespassers from entering the site at all times.
  • Prevent antisocial behaviour by providing a security presence and patrolling the internal and external perimeters. Where required also recording the times of each patrol using the Patrol device provided.
  • Identify any Health & Safety issues around the site and report them to the Line Manager.
  • Undertake regular patrols to monitor the cleanliness of the site and record and report any spillages to the relevant contractors.
  • Direct Cleaning staff to areas requiring attention.
  • First point of contact for Police for any incidents and ongoing collaboration regarding sharing of local intelligence relating to known individuals and incidents.
  • Preserve assets of clients and site Contractors such as vehicles tools and machinery.
  • Maintain a security log of all activities and incidents occurring during the shift for audit purposes complete the Daily Occurrence Book during each shift.
  • To serve as a principal source of information on rules and procedures governing security and Health and Safety operations on sites.
  • Ensure safety regulation compliance at the sites and that PPE is worn where required by both contractors visitors to site establish security patrol priorities and assist in crime prevention by identifying high risk areas and initiates actions to reduce risk exposure.
  • Take necessary action in the event of emergency in accordance with assignment instructions and report all incidents to the Line Manager.
  • Safeguard all the site keys manage and log the issue and return of keys and ensure that keys are issued only where authorisation is validated.
  • Ensure that the Fire regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • Any other reasonable request made by the Line Manager.
  • Any other duty as detailed by the Company.
Due to the nature of our business this is a developing job description and additions or changes will be made as and when the need arises with full consultation beforehand.

From time to time you may be required to perform additional reasonable duties other than those mentioned in this job description on request from the Line Manager.



Requirements


Person Specification

  • Must hold a valid frontline SIA Licence or be eligible to obtain one
  • Knowledge of working within the security industry
  • Experience of working within the security industry (preferable)
  • Ability to work flexible hours including days nights and weekends and sometimes at short notice where required
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Firstrate communication skills verbal and written
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • Strong reliable dedicated individual who is able to be resilient and steadfast at all times
