Our client are an industry leader within the supply chain, logistics and warehouse management field. They boast over 30 years' experience overseeing shipping, handling, storage and distribution solutions.

We are currently seeking an Import Coordinator to join their team on a 9-month contract in order to cover maternity leave. Full training is provided, but proven background within Administrative roles is necessary in order to best succeed within this role. This position is based in Witham, Essex and looking to pay 30,00 pro-rata.

This role is primarily responsible for organising transport of containers, alongside full management of all administrative duties to ensure incoming containers are cleared and recorded efficiently and accurately.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage Inbound Shipments via Sea Freight and Air Freight
  • Managing Jobs on Internal Systems for Inbound Shipments
  • Customs Entries
  • Customs Documentation using IPAFFS/DES PHILIS
  • Port Health Documentation
  • Liaising with Customers via Email and Telephone
  • Monitor and Track Full Journey of Shipments from Start to Finish
  • Transport Deliveries
  • Ensure Delivery Requirements Are Met, Including Bonded Cargo
  • Processing Job Costings and Invoices
  • Consistently Updating Data on System to Ensure Accuracy
  • Analysis Reporting
  • Signing Off Files

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent Administration skills, with proven background overseeing processes and being responsible for full data management
  • Organised, with ability to work within a busy and sometimes noisy environment while remaining within time scale
  • Strong IT skills - particularly within Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word, alongside ability to learn in-house systems
  • Customer Service skills required as you will be required to communicate both internally and externally via email and phone
  • Must be confident to work both collaboratively and independently
  • A-Level education desired but not essential
  • Experience within Supply Chain and Logistics sector is not essential as full training is provided. However, applicants with this background will be highly desirable

Hours and Pay:

  • 9-month contract with potential to go permanent. Looking for starters ASAP so current Coordinator can provide training before going on maternity leave
  • 30,000 salary pro-rata
  • 22 days' holiday pro-rata
  • 08:30 - 17:00
