Specific Position Requirements:
Responsibilities
- As a Software Test and Tools Dev Engineer for the client Intelligent Solutions Group in Torrance CA you will develop Engineering Test Tools and provide support in software test of clients line of GNSS StarFire receivers.
In addition you will:
- Develop and implement tools to support analysis of GNSS StarFire Receivers.
- Support and implement Test Automation features for software test team.
- Diagnose and solve software defects.
- Analyse issues in a systematic persistent and thorough manner.
- Execute and support software engineering test and verification of clients line of GNSS StarFire receivers.
- Understand GNSS concepts and fundamentals through software test work assignments.
- Provide daily assistance and guidance for team on work assignments which may involve working with nontechnical team members to understand software issues.
- Someone who is selfmotivated and picks up on things quickly.
- Someone who can diagnose and solve software defects analyse issues in a systematic persistent and thorough manner.
- Someone who can execute and support software engineering test plans and verification of GNSS receivers when needed.
- Someone with strong skills who can develop and implement tools to support the product test team and implement Test Automation features.
What Skills You Need
- Strong Experience with Matlab Python and C/C
- Strong Experience with Databases SQL and SQL server Tools
- Experience with cloud services (AWS Microsoft DevOps)
- Experience with test plan creation and execution
- Experience with software development life cycle and reporting/tracking software defects
- Demonstrated effective analytical reporting & presentation skills.
- Strong software analytical skills; problem solving and conveying complex features/issues to engineers in other disciplines
- Experience working in a team environment with crossfunctional teams
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with Webdesign HTML CSS
- Awareness of UI/UX principles
- Strong experience with Microsoft Project and Team Foundation Server (TFS)
- Experience in Validation & Verification Testing of Requirements System and Regression Level Testing Test Report Preparation and Software Test Estimation
- Strong Experience in Microsoft Office skills including Word Excel PowerPoint
- Performs basic product design testing and/or analysis work for a defined portion of a project.
- Operates in a team environment providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
- Develops recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors before implementation.
Duties:
- Applies existing applications to routine problems.
- Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications.
- This may include possible involvement of other functional engineers supply management and/or supplier personnel.
- Analyses assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for routine problems or projects.
- Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers supply management and/or supplier personnel.
- Learns and applies company engineering policies and practices; learns company products.
- Executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.
