MustHaves:

• Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support
• One of the following certifications is required:
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International
  • Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• Pediatric echo experience

NiceToHaves:

• Hospital experience strongly preferred

Job Description:

Schedule: FT Days and PT Days

As a Cardiac Sonographer with the Heart Center you will collaborate with pediatric critical care medicine physicians and hospitalists from McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. This role involves providing twentyfourhour inhouse and oncall coverage to ensure the best care for patients with intensive care needs.

The Childrens Heart Institute equipped with stateoftheart techniques and services aims to provide patients with the most complex problems the greatest opportunity for a normal life. The role includes innovative treatment methods specialized services and ongoing cardiac training and mentorship for the sonographer team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiac Sonography Technology Radiologic Technology or Sonography Technology (preferred).
• License/Certification:
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support (required)
  • One of the following (required):
    • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International
    • Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others for job functions
• Demonstrates commitment to the PartnersinCaring process
• Excellent customer service skills

Principal Accountabilities:

• Performs echocardiogram tests on patients
• Enters and monitors patient data
• Performs quality assurance on equipment
• Identifies and reports accidents complaints or equipment malfunctions
• Participates in performance improvement activities
• Takes emergency call within the department
• Ensures safe care to patients staff and visitors
