Job Summary Responsible for diagnosing presence and stage of diseases using laboratory techniques and patient specimens. Job Responsibilities 1 Assists in developing the medical laboratory strategic plan and objectives. Reviews and approves new/revised Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) pertaining to pathology. Ensures that policies are implemented and followed by the staff. Reports to the laboratory head and accepts delegation as and when required. Analyses, summarizes, and endorses regular operational & performance reports, including the technical evaluation of instruments & kits. Provides expert clinical and/or surgical pathology guidance to referring physicians and patients Directs laboratory testing by technologists; reviews and interprets test results; decide, requests further tests if required. Formulates an effective and efficient quality assurance program(s) for the laboratory, including creating appropriate documentation and performing periodic reviews. Participates in audits or reviews conducted by internal auditing teams, accreditation bodies, and national healthcare committees (e.g., MoPH).
