Job Description
Role VSI OpenVMS Oracle
Experience with VSI OpenVMS
Be able to identify OpenVMS issues relating to Oracle RDB such as performance logicals batch jobs file protectionsBe familiar with user identifiers and the Authorize utility
Experience with Oracle RDB Able to perform RDB database backups and restoresUse RMU/ANALYZE to identify fragmentated records bad indexes etc
Use RMU/EXTRACT to generate DDL as needed
Be able to create indexes add/remove tables and columnsUse RMU/SHOW Statistics to identify performance and locking issues
Use RDB tools to identify locks and blockers and remedy those quickly
Understands Oracle SQL/Services and SQL*NET for RDB (Also called OCI Services)
Use RDB debug flags to identify inefficient indexes and problem queries.
