Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.
Up to 55000 DOE Bonus Healthcare.
We are recruiting a Senior Design Engineer to join our client based in Bedford who are wellestablished within the manufacturing sector. With over 50 year s experience their varied product portfolio includes off the shelf components through to a fully bespoke engineered machine which can include design development and manufacturing.
Operating within a variety of markets such as the Medical and Food Packaging industries this is a fastpaced role which can offer genuine potential for progression.
This is a senior role with a lot of autonomy. Working within a small team of engineers you will have ownership of the complete process from concept through to completion. This will include typical Project Management responsibilities.
Requirements
What the Role will involve for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:
Work directly with a Technical Sales Engineer to understand the client requirements and develop a detailed specification.
The role could involve modifying existing machines or designing bespoke machines from the ground up.
Liaise with the end client throughout the process.
Create the BOM s in conjunction with Purchasing and Procurement.
Create all necessary documentation such as manufacturing drawings.
Answer any queries during the build test install and commissioning stages.
Although this is a Mechanical role there will be an element of Electrical Design including generating schematics cable runs basic control panel layouts etc.
What we are looking for in the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer:
Experience as a Design Engineer responsible for designing machines including subassemblies and assemblies.
3D CAD experience ideally with Solid Works.
Knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical engineering along with Pneumatic Systems.
Previous experience of machine design and design for manufacture.
A result driven mindset and a focus on hitting targets.
This role involves a high degree of selfmanagement this could be prioritising workload liaising with the customer etc.
