We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric LPN to provide oneonone care and support for a student during school hours. The Pediatric LPN will accompany the student to school ensuring their safety and wellbeing while adhering to the students individualized care plan. This role may involve assisting the student on the bus and providing medical assistance as needed throughout the day.
Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Nursing Care: Provide direct nursing care to the student based on their specific healthcare needs outlined in the care plan. This includes administering medications monitoring vital signs and managing any medical equipment required.
Accompaniment: Accompany the student to school and remain with them throughout the school day ensuring a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning.
Transportation Assistance: Assist the student with boarding and disembarking from the bus if necessary ensuring a smooth and comfortable commute to and from school.
Direct Care Plan Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating the students direct care plan as necessary ensuring it reflects the students current health status and needs.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with school staff parents/guardians and healthcare providers regarding the students health and wellbeing. Report any changes or concerns promptly and accurately.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond promptly and efficiently to any medical emergencies or unexpected situations that may arise during school hours following established protocols and procedures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all nursing interventions assessments and observations related to the students care ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Hours: The position requires availability between the hours of 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday in alignment with the school schedule.
Rate: Compensation for this position ranges from $33 to $35 per hour commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Certification: Must possess a valid LPN license in good standing with the appropriate state licensing board.
Pediatric Experience: Prior experience working with pediatric patients preferably in a school or similar setting is highly desirable.
CPR and First Aid Certification: Current certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid is required.
Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with pediatric patients parents/guardians school staff and healthcare professionals.
Reliability and Dependability: Demonstrated reliability and punctuality with the ability to consistently fulfill scheduled shifts and responsibilities.
