Requirements The Center for International and Regional Studies (CIRS) at GU-Q is a premier research institute devoted to the academic study of regional and international issues. Reporting to the Assistant Director of CIRS Operations and Research Support, the position will support the Center in planning and executing CIRS research projects and activities, communicating with faculty and scholars and maintaining records related to CIRS research projects. As this position is based in Doha, Qatar and offers no relocation assistance, GU-Q is looking for locally based candidates only. This is a temporary, full-time and non-sponsored position that requires all applicants to already have the necessary sponsorship to live and work in Qatar. Key Accountabilities • Work closely with the Assistant Director to ensure the successful planning and execution of CIRS research projects and activities. • Maintain regular communication with faculty and scholars on details related to their CIRS research projects • Create and maintain detailed and organized records, checklists, and timelines related to CIRS research projects. Key Activities • Collaborate with CIRS team members in developing plans, identifying key milestones, and outlining deliverables. • Coordinate regular project review sessions, providing updates on status, and facilitating discussions on adjustments or enhancements. • Address challenges in collaboration with the CIRS team, faculty, and scholars to ensure smooth project progression. • Support logistics coordination for CIRS research projects, including scheduling meetings, managing travel plans, and overseeing operational aspects. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and resolve challenges. • Act as a liaison between research project stakeholders, ensuring clarity and cohesion in all related communications. • Ensure accuracy, currency, and accessibility of all documentation for reference and reporting purposes. • Provide additional programmatic support as required. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. • 3 + years of relevant experience, preferably in project management or project coordination. • Prior experience in events management is a plus. • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Advanced English-speaking skills. • Proficient in record-keeping and documentation. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements. • Previous experience working within higher education is preferred.
