Summary
Oversee the maintenance department and ensure consistent mechanical reliability of the ethanol plant.
- Manage internal maintenance staff and external contract labor as needed to maintain the facility.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and systems to minimize downtime of the facility.
- Plan develop and implement procedures to improve operations minimize operating costs and affect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining safe work practices within his/her scope of responsibility.
- Review maintenance work orders and set work priorities and assignments daily.
- Participate with facility management and quality control personnel in the development of major maintenance and engineering projects.
- Coordinate the activities of workers fabricating or modifying machinery tools or equipment used in ethanol processing activities.
- Direct maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat steam electric power gas or air required for plant operations.
- Develop and/or review production quality control and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and accomplish plant maintenance activities.
- Advise and engage engineering staff on implications of new projects from a maintenance standpoint.
- Assist engineering staff in vetting engineering projects.
- Secure requisite tools equipment and supplies required for efficient plant operations. Hold oversight responsibility for maintenance of storeroom inventory control systems and the facility s inventory of tools and equipment.
- Inspect or coordinate inspections of plant assets for conformance with operating standards on a regular basis.
- Direct train and oversee the activities of the Maintenance Department workers to improve work efficiency and performance. Assure compliance with the facility s policies work rules and procedures.

- Valid drivers license required.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance operations or other relevant field required.
- Bachelor s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of the operations of an ethanol plant preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to work in outside conditions and adverse weather.
- Walking on catwalks at a variety of heights
- Entering and working in confined spaces
- Working at heights up to 200ft. with appropriate safety equipment
