Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Monitors progress of and intervenes in the course of chronic illnesses using policies and protocols for guidance.
- Inoculates or vaccinates against communicable diseases prescribes medications or administers treatment to acute and chronically ill patients and performs minor surgery as training and competency allow.
- Performs routine physical exams of patients to determine the control or status of chronic conditions and diagnose new conditions.
- Evaluates patients for the necessity of specialty referral consultations inside or outside.
- The institution and reviews said to consult reports for the recommendations approving or disapproving accordingly.
- Orders and reviews the results of laboratory xray and other diagnostic testing as appropriate.
- The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) facilitates the completion of medical reclassification and requests for nonformulary medications as necessary.
- Performs routine and emergency medical care for patients as scheduled.
- Examines diagnoses and treats patients within their scope of practice as identified by the State of Ohio Nursing Board as applicable.
- Conducts rounds on infirmary patients as deemed appropriate by the CMO.
- Cooperates with CMO medical quality oversight & accept suggestions redirection and Guidance.
