Job Overview:
Syra Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Psychologist to join our team of mental health professionals. As a clinical psychologist you will provide preemployment psychological screening and assessments of job applicants and work fitness evaluations of County applicants and employees. Your expertise will contribute to the overall psychological wellbeing and effectiveness of the Countys work force.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct clinical interviews assessments and evaluations for the purpose of determining psychological disorders problems or profiles that prohibit the applicant or employee from performing the duties of the job.
  • Administers review and interpret psychological and personality test reports.
  • Reviews previous medical and psychological findings to assist with determination that the applicant or employee does not have a preexiting psychological concern that may interfere with the performance of job duties.
  • Provides feedback to all applicants or employee.
  • Prepares and provides reports to the County hiring review board or County appointed human resource personnel.
  • Conducts clinical interviews with employees their supervisors and coworkers when necessary and reviews previous psychological findings.
  • Consults with the employees private psychologist or psychiatrist and department management concerning the employees condition evaluates employees ability to perform assigned duties and determines if the employee should be placed under work restrictions or removed from employment.
  • Conduct emergency shortterm psychological counseling for the County employees when necessary.
  • Consult with the Workers Compensation Department by monitoring the psychological treatment given to the Workers Compensation award recipient.
  • Performs work fitness and return to work evaluations for current employees.
  • May consult with other fulltime or parttime contract or consultant psychologists administrative and clerical staff engaged in the applicant or employee psychological screening and psychological health management.
  • Assigned other duties related to this position.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical psychology from an accredited psychology program.
  • Current and valid psychologist license in the state of New Jersey.
  • At least 2 years experience providing preemployment psychological screening and assessments of job applicants and work fitness evaluations.
  • Strong clinical and diagnosing skills and expertise in conducting psychological interviews psychological test procedures standard test forms and devices used in measuring psychological characteristics clinical techniques as related to psychological examinations and diagnosis.
  • Experience at statistics as applied to tests and measurements as well as strengths and limitations of assessment methods.
  • Competent to select administer and score psychometric tests analyze and interpret the test results and correlate the test results with other findings in order to form recommendations.
  • Able to report findings clearly and concisely.
  • Must write clear and comprehensive psychodiagnostic reports.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and written.
  • Knowledgeable of legal and ethical mandates surrounding preemployment screening.
  • Work cooperatively with other professionals and County officials and staff
  • Experience working with diverse applicants and employees and cultural sensitivity.
