Staff Accountant

Measures of Success:

• Perform monthly closure duties such as account analysis and journal entry preparation.
  
• Prepare and analyze account reconciliations as well as perform analytical assessments of balance sheet and income statement accounts to guarantee transaction correctness and validity.
• Provide assistance and advise to the operations and finance departments in identifying and recommending cost reductions or enhancements.
• Prepare specific initiatives as directed by management.
• Provide assistance in both external and SOX audits.
• Play an important role in defining executing and documenting accounting rules and procedures
• Assist in preparing 10Q and 10K schedules.
• Other responsibilities as necessary to meet the departments requirements

Ideal Candidate Attributes:

• Requirements include a bachelors degree in accounting or finance a CPA or CMA and 1 years of experience in the manufacturing or CPG industries.
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel (Pivot tables and VLOOKUPs); SAP or equivalent ERP system strongly desirable; Hyperion a plus.
• Capable of managing several priorities and deadlines in a fastpaced setting. Able to handle diverse duties and solve problems autonomously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
• High customer service orientation.
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to function in a continuous state of vigilance and safety
