Safety Officer

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to minimize workplace accidents and injuries.
• Train employees on safety protocols emergency procedures and the proper use of safety equipment.
• Conduct risk assessments and create contingency plans for emergencies.
• Investigate and document incidents to determine the root cause and prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with management to address safety concerns and develop proactive safety initiatives.
• Maintain safety records and documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives.
• Provide support and guidance to employees regarding safetyrelated concerns.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or related field.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g. OSHA) is preferred.
• Proven experience in a safety officer or related role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment and hazard identification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs.
• Proficient in incident investigation and reporting.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
