Job Description
As a Reliability Engineer you will:
In the capacity of an individual contributor execute a series of observabilitydriven solutions lead and provide guidance to engineering teams with SRE best practices tools frameworks metrics and dashboards.
Provide consulting to leaders in product engineering and operations to identify and address risks vulnerabilities and limits in our system before they lead to largescale issues
Improve the availability reliability and observability of PSSP Data Products and reduce the burden of human toil with tooling automation or process change
Define a roadmap and execution strategy in collaboration with peer engineering teams partners and product management teams.
Identify curate and adapt key metrics for data health pipeline health platform/system health and performance.
Coach assigned engineers on problemsolving analysis influence architecture Handson Technical capabilities on observability tools such as SignalFx/Splunk specific BEAT DQ/ Spark Expectations etc.
The candidate shall be responsible to get the required libraries delivered through the reporting team. Strong hold on 12 programming languages (Python Pyspark) with AWS services experience.
REQUIRED SKILLSETS
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
Proficient knowledge of objectoriented programming combined with 8 years of software development experience: Java Python Pyspark etc.
Data engineering experience throughout its lifecycle (Design Engineering Testing Deployment Support)
Expertise in Apache Spark Hadoop Hive Databricks and S3.
Good understanding of Data Modelling and Data warehousing concepts
Expertise in data pipeline scheduling software such as Apache Airflow or Autosys
Expertise in one or more cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or GCP
Expertise with any of the databases such as Snowflake Teradata or Oracle
Understanding of Docker Kubernetes or other container technologies
Strong expertise with NoSQL & SQL strategies to ensure data storage is designed for security reliability availability maintainability and performance
Experience with implementing and consuming RESTful (Representational State Transfer) web services integrating legacy and modern RESTful APIs
Experience with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery) including relevant
Experience with tools like Jenkins 2.0 Knowledgeable with GitHub (version control systems) and Jira (issue tracking / ALM tools)
