The Band 7 Dietitian is a seniorlevel professional responsible for providing specialized nutritional care and expertise within a healthcare setting. This role involves working with individuals across various age groups and diverse medical conditions managing complex cases and contributing to the development of nutritionrelated policies and procedures.

Requirements

  1. Clinical Assessment and Intervention:

    • Conduct thorough nutritional assessments for patients with complex medical conditions.
    • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on assessment findings.
    • Provide expert dietary advice and education to patients families and other healthcare professionals.
  2. Management of Specialized Cases:

    • Manage patients with complex nutritional needs such as those with chronic diseases eating disorders or critical illness.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  3. Research and Development:

    • Stay abreast of the latest research in the field of nutrition and dietetics.
    • Contribute to research initiatives and evidencebased practice within the department.
    • Implement and evaluate new dietetic interventions.
  4. Policy Development:

    • Contribute to the development and review of nutritional policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with national and local guidelines in the provision of dietetic services.
  5. Training and Supervision:

    • Provide mentorship and supervision to junior dietitians dietetic students and other healthcare professionals.
    • Conduct training sessions for staff on nutritionrelated topics.
  6. Service Improvement:

    • Identify areas for service improvement and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the dietetic service.
  7. Documentation and Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of patient assessments interventions and outcomes.
    • Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality regulations.
