CAD Drafter I provides computer aided design (CAD) drafting prepares drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications layouts blueprints and sketches. Utilizes computer aided drafting software and other techniques standards and tools to prepare technical drawings. Being a CAD Drafter I coordinate and consult with engineers or designers to complete projects. Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Additionally CAD Drafter I reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelors degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The CAD Drafter I work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter I typically requires 02 years of related experience.
- Associates or Technical degree in Drafting & Design is required
- 02 years of related civil and land development drafting experience
- Proficient in the latest version of AutoCAD Civil3D
- Ability to read and understand plans contours and profiles
- Ability to lead plan preparation from acquisition of survey data and base map preparation through final plats and record drawings with minimal direction
