We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join our amazing finance department based near Taunton. This opportunity will suit an established Finance Manager who is looking to gain new experiences or branch out into the social care sector and bring their own skills and experiences to our team and organisation.

What will a Finance Manager position look like

This is an opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join the leadership team of a small dynamic care business with headquarters in Taunton Somerset.

This role will initially be responsible for all daytoday accounting functions payroll and administration. Reporting directly to the Finance Director the role will develop with time to include financial planning and analysis and become a vital partner to the leadership of the organisation.

Main Duties (not limited to)

Understand and implement changes to accounting and tax regulations.

Maintenance of company cashflow and Balance Sheet.

Managing the financial processes and ensure systems and those effecting the financial. position are fit for purpose as the company evolves.

Lead financial projects and advise the board on capital investments.

Accurate and timely payment of supplies payroll and related liabilities.

Ensuring the production of monthly accounts profit and loss balance sheet and cash flow analysis.

Implementation of risk reduction strategies.

Lead and manage a finance team and recruit for growth.

Other Duties...

Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the confines of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined subject to the proviso that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms.

Participate in the training and development of new and temporary staff as appropriate.

Keep up to date with finance policy and directions including those from the DfE EFA etc. through such media as the EFA eBulletin etc. and alert colleagues to any required actions changes to policy or current initiatives.

Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall ethos and aims of the Empower Family Group.

To be responsible for your own continuing selfdevelopment and to participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.

To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection safeguarding health and safety security confidentiality and data protection reporting all concerns to an appropriate person as soon as they arise.


Requirements

ACA ACCA OR CIMA qualified accountant.

GCSE A*C English and Maths or equivalent.

Previous experience of developing a team.

Experience of producing budgets management accounts and analysis.

Strong technical accounting knowledge.

Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels by telephone face to face and in writing.

Excellent attention to detail.

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Xero.

Ability to work with accuracy under pressure.
