Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join a fantastic team in a great accountancy practice based in Eastbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and highly successful payroll team. You will work with a varied client portfolio across a complete mix of industries, ranging from small director only payrolls through to multi-million pound groups. Part-time applicants will be considered and hybrid working is also on offer, besides a fantastic benefits package!

The client would support you with development and qualifications, providing study support towards further education should you require it.

Responsibilities:
  • Liaising with clients and entering payroll data from start to finish accurately
  • Reconciling payroll to client data, getting client approval as appropriate and issuing payroll reports & payslips
  • Preparing payroll journals
  • Reconciling weekly and monthly PAYE figures
  • Preparing BACS files
  • Administering Pension Auto-enrolment including making appropriate declarations to The Pensions Regulator.
  • Producing and distributing pension scheme returns, including notification of changes in members status and uploading to pension provider.
  • Dealing effectively with queries from clients and HMRC


Requirements

  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll related legislation such as PAYE, National Insurance, family leave & pay, etc.
  • Ability to calculate payroll results manually and explain calculations/breakdown to clients
  • Good understanding of pension schemes and rules
  • Evidence of being a proactive, hands-on team player who is confident in working to changing priorities in a busy department
  • A natural organiser with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of a computerised payroll software
  • AAT Qualified / Part Qualified or CIPP Qualified / In progress.

24,000 - 30,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.
