Requirements


Imaging will take place within a veterinary hospital setting and involves a multitude of different species. Comfort working in an environment in which non-human patients are the imaging subjects is a must. This position requires versatility, attention to detail, professionalism, and courteousness. The primary duty is to provide MR imaging to patients under veterinarian orders. Must be able to work independently and also facilitate an atmosphere of teamwork. Assist in creating an efficient, knowledgeable and smooth operation throughout the hospital.


Credentials: Valid MRI certification through ARRT or ARMRIT
  • Able to perform all duties of an MRI technologist
  • Minimum 1yr experience post certification
  • Dual certification as CT Technologist a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of hospital imaging equipment, safety, maintenance
  • Ability to trouble-shoot MRI equipment with the help of our Facilities Manager and outside servicing partners
  • Focus on safety of patients and team members associated in advanced imaging procedures.
  • Recognize areas for improvement/education and make recommendations to the Training Manager
  • Help educate and enforce proper safety protocols.
  • Assist with the creation of protocols that ensure the hospital is always adhering to OSHA standards when performing radiographs and advanced
  • imaging procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of contrast agents, contraindications, side-effects, etc.
  • Possess initiative, follow through and a can do attitude.
  • Be professional and courteous at all times
  • Be able to effectively communicate with all hospital personnel
  • Possess knowledge of and adhere to hospital policies
  • Provide timely, compassionate, and accurate care to hospital occupants.
  • Complete other projects/duties as assigned both orally and written as instructed by management

Job Environment
Fast paced, multi-task, must be able to lift up to 45 lbs solo and 150 lbs with some assistance, standing for prolonged periods of time, tolerate sickness/death, exposure to potentially zoonotic diseases and occupational radiation.
