The WTSS is to manage safe access of track access and Works Train consist movement at the DTL project Defined Areas within the station/tunnels/access shaft/depot
His duties are:
Perform duties of a WTSS as trained at a temporary staging area access shaft depot or mainline environment.
Enforce the rules and regulations as trained in accordance with the Works Train manual.
Ensure safe movement of Works Train consists/trains inside the Defined Areas in mainline station trackside and tunnels lifting shaft or depots.
Ensure safe access by personincharge and work parties in an energized Defined Area.
Local control of all access personincharge work parties and Works Train movement within Defined Area under his charge.
Issue control and maintain Works Train signage and equipment under his charge.
Assist the Works Train controller/control centres in shunting Works Trains inside the Defined Area.
Work with the Works Train controller Works Train consist and execute the instructions of the Works Train controller.
Setting up of protection e.g sector limit boards red flashing lights short circuit device and throwing and securing of points.
Assist in the onthejob training of new WTSS attached to his work station.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Works Train Manager or his representatives

Rotating shift 73:30 310:30 107:30
NTC 2/3 GCE Olevel or equivalent qualifications
Has relevant working experience in railway environment
To perform any allocated shift of the threerotating 8hour shift duties
To work independently and take instructions from the WTCO
To take charge monitor and control small work groups
To report for duty during exigencies etc.
To handle situations incidents accidents and implement recovery.
Measures in a calm and systematic manner
To perform physical works in construction environments
