Sr Staff Civil Engineer

• Perform work that involves conventional types of plans construction of conventional and critical structures
  
• Assignments usually include one or more of the following:
  
• Review of project plans and specifications
  
• Interpretation of current building codes and relevant engineering properties
  
• Interpretation of field and laboratory testing and special inspections for use in preparation of routine reports with supervisor guidance
  
• Analyses requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific area of assignments
  
• Client and stakeholder communication interaction and relationshipbuilding
  
• Coordinate the work of special inspectors subcontractors and others who assist in specific assignments
  
• Interaction with field inspectors dispatch and materials testing lab personnel for quality control of construction
  
• Using testing and construction standards such as Caltrans DSA ICC ACI and others for testing and reporting compliance
  
• Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations adjust and correlate data recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes
  
• Prepare proposals for testing and inspection services from takeoff through cost estimates
  
• Review/approve mix design submittals
  
• Review and summarize laboratory test data
  
• Prepare technical reports and proposals
  
• Attend all required meetings
  
• Follow company policies and procedures and all safety procedures
  

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
  
• 36 years of Civil or Geotechnical experience
  
• Knowledge of Caltrans DSA ICC or ACI
  
• EIT Designation
  
• Willing to obtain PE certification within two years
  
• Familiarity with interpreting documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  
• Strong reporting proposals and correspondence skills
  
• Must possess a valid drivers license
  
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  
• Comfortable working in an environment with moderate noise levels at times
  
• Must be able to pass a background check
