Credit Officer

MDMS is recruiting for a Credit Officer for an international bank in NYC to assess companies across North America. This is a 4month contract and is hybrid (3 days per week) in NYC.

Responsibilities:

• Credit assessment of counterparty and underlying assets being traded/financed.
  
• Provide detailed explanation of the counterparty considered including analysis of historical performance of existing activities.
  
• Highlight key risk factors.
  
• Provide an approval or recommendation for approval based upon the proposed limit(s) and tenor(s) being considered.
  
• Document recommendation for final decision.
  
• Ongoing monitoring of the credit quality of the portfolio.
  
• Track credit and market trends on individual asset classes.
  
• Participation in the quarterly watch list review process.
  
• Assist in the preparation of reporting for management and regulators.
  
• Validation of Obligor Risk Ratings Basle II parameters (LGDs) other financial metrics.
  
• Contribution to credit policy guidelines and overall risk appetite.
  
• Participate in setting the global risk appetite for financing initiatives.
  

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in financial services with a focus on Insurance and Private Equity.
  
• Broad knowledge of risks impacting the Financial Institutions sector with a specific expertise in credit risk.
  
• Strong knowledge of the US Market and regulatory practices.
  
• Must have strong analytical and solid judgment skills with a proven ability to understand complex transactions/processes.
  
• Results focused responsive with strong strategic capabilities in terms of decision making and risk assessment.
