Job Summary:

This is a new role to OCU Hornbill to help with the growth of the business and support the additional movement within the workshop. This role is responsible for taking deliveries and managing stock levels. The primary duties include receiving and dispatching goods from the stores storing goods received appropriately and resolving discrepancies in the delivery of goods.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner that will not present harm or danger to others and that all company guidelines and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels track incoming and outgoing materials ensure stock levels are adequate.
  • Undertake cost transactions on Sage to allocate booked out consumables to correct project codes.
  • Purchasing of components requested by workshop staff including all items in the stock room.
  • Receive inspect and store incoming materials in designated locations accurately. Safely handle and transport materials within the workshop premises.
  • Conduct regular inspections of storage area. Ensure areas are kept tidy. Identifying any defects or discrepancies and take appropriate actions.
  • Collaborate with the workshop team as needed.
  • Provide workshop staff with a kit of consumables from the stores when requested.
  • Print panel labelling as required.
  • Assist with the assembly of panels when required.
  • Manage workshop tools (including calibrations) equipment and machinery ensuring they remain in good working condition.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Identify areas where improvements can be made to operating efficiency of the Workshop.
  • Undertake training as required to maintain or develop competency levels.

Key Skills Required

  • Basic understanding of tools and equipment within an electrical workshop
  • Counterbalance FLT licence
  • Computer literate with ordering software and Microsoft packages
  • Ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels
